Ingredients

  • Maida

  • Boiled & Grated Potatoes

  • Refined Oil

  • Chick Peas (Kabuli Chana)

    300 g
  • Refined Oil

  • Chopped Onion

  • Grated Ginger & Garlic

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Cumin Seeds

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Haldi Powder

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Coriander Powder

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Cumin Powder

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Red Chilli Powder

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Amchur Power (Dry Mango Powder)

    1 tsp
  • Sunrise Chana Masala

    2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Prep Bhature

Step 1
Sift the maida into a bowl.
Step 2
Add 2 grated potatoes.
Step 3
Add salt.
Step 4
Add 1 tsp of refined oil.
Step 5
Mix them well and gradually add water and knead into a firm dough.

How to Cook Chole Bhature

Frying the Bhature

Step 1
Heat refined Oil for deep frying.
Step 2
Divide the dough into equal portions.
Step 3
Roll each dough ball into a circular shape.
Step 4
Once the oil is hot, fry the rolled-out bhature until they puff up and turn golden brown on both sides.
Step 5
Once done, place the bhatura on a napkin-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Sunrise tip: - Bhatura is thicker than a puri, so make sure to make your dough balls slightly bigger.

Boiling the Chole

Step 1
Add a pinch of salt and pressure cook the overnight soaked chickpeas with wate. Cook until they are soft.
Step 2
Drain and set aside.

Sunrise tip:- Add a tea bag while boiling the chana to enhance the flavour. (if you don't have a tea bag, use a white cloth and tie some tea into it)

 

Cooking the Chole Masala

Step 1
Heat oil in a pan.
Step 2
Add cumin seeds, chopped onion, 1 tsp grated ginger & garlic, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp haldi powder, 1 tsp amchur powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 2 tsp chana masala.
Step 3
Add boiled chickpeas (kabuli chana) and some water to adjust the consistency.
Step 4
Mix them well and cook for 5 minutes.

Sunrise tip:  Serve your Chole Bhature with some Laccha Peyaz (sliced onion rings) and spicy coriander chutney.
