Sunrise tip: For an extra-thick, extra-crunchy coating, dip the coated chicken in egg wash and cornflakes for a second time.

Steps

Step 1: Marinate the chicken

Time: 10 minutes

Place the chicken drumsticks In a large bowl, mix together the salt, turmeric powder, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, green chilli paste, Sunrise Red Chilli powder, beaten egg, corn flour and Sunrise Meat Masala.

Rub the marinade all over the pieces, making sure each piece is well coated. Keep it aside.

Step 2: Coat the marinated/ coated chicken

Time: 5 minutes

In a shallow dish, spread the cornflakes and roughly crush them with your hands.

Dip the coated chicken drumsticks in the crushed cornflakes one by one.

Step 3: Heat oil and fry the chicken

Time: 20 minutes

Heat the refined oil in a deep pan or kadhai over medium heat. Once hot, carefully lower the coated chicken pieces into the oil, 3-4 at a time.

Deep fry for 6-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 4: Drain excess oil and serve hot

Time: 5 minutes

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried chicken from the oil. Place on a plate lined with kitchen paper to absorb any excess oil.

Serve the Crunchy Fried Chicken piping hot, with ketchup or mint chutney, sliced onions and a sprinkling of chaat masala if desired.
